One of my favorite writing games is something I call three words. I post three words and encourage you to write a flash fiction piece containing those three words. If you would like to challenge me – post three words for me and next week I will post a piece of flash fiction using your words. Enjoy!

"Your argument is supercilious," Anne declared.
"Yet valid," Mark countered. "If you were not such a Feme-Nazi, you would see that."
Anne considered him for a moment. "Touche." She leaned back in her chair. "But you must concede that anything short of three kinds of chocolate cannot be called 'death-by-chocolate.'"
Mark smiled. "On the contrary. If it is the right chocolate it takes only one."
p.s. Krista M, you almost stumped me. Could not think of anything else!
As I looked around and realized nothing was what it was supposed to be, I couldn't help it. Just one more cliche just to piss my brother off.
ReplyDelete"This isn't Kansas anymore, Toto."
Shame he wasn't here to hear it. He would like the view.
I woke up and found myself in some weird vortex. After several uncomfortable minutes in what felt like a spin cycle gone mad, here I am, looking at trees that grow sideways like the wind was blowing a hundred miles an hours but, it wasn't. Leaves that are various shades of blue like an album cover from the Beetles or something from the drug years of the 70's. and a waterfall that ran pinkish over stones of lavender and shades of purple. The waterfall was at least fifty feet tall and the mist gave a fruity air to the whole scene as it tinted the lower part of the horizon. It even smelled sweet, almost like candy yet, different.
"Yep, I fit right in. Me and my brown running suit." Didn't know who I was talking to, didn't matter. "Looks like me and my brown running suit might as well have a better look around."
I decided to follow the stones that resembled a path or something kind of like one, down towards the treeline off to the left of the waterfall beside the blue leaf tress that point sideways.
"Man, no more energy drinks before bed. Toto." Don't know what I was talking about, I never did drink them before bed. I tended to spout things for reaction, even when no one was around. "Gotta work on that David." I said to myself.
Wow, those were tough three words to put together. Great job at doing it Krista!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for your words, my creative brain has left the building today, so I got nothing...at least nothing good, lol. :)
I like it! Great job on answering my challenge!! :) I'll have to think of another one to stump you. :)
