The Beginning

I felt it slip through my fingers...

  1. I felt it slip through my fingers, the blue light cascaded right through me. I turned in a circle not knowing how I came to be here, in this unfamiliar place, translucent.

"Don't worry Mia. I won't let anything happen to you." A deep male voice whispered.

I looked up to see a human. He stood as tall as a tree with a blue moon behind him, "Where am I?"

"Here with me. They say a fairy can grant wishes."

Confused, I tried to remember the human. Had I met him somewhere before? His features, the square jawline, thick mop of hair on his head, and those round chocolate eyes. I knew him.

The memories rushed back, he was Gabriel. A wizard, my brother. He had cast a spell on me.

"You turned me into a fairy to have wishes granted Gabe?"

"I'm sorry Mia, but I need the money."

"Do you know what happens when a fairy finishes granting wishes?"

"They die. You have two wishes to grant me Mia. I wish to be rich. My second wish is for you to disappear. After all I can't have you coming back as the neighborhoods friendly ghost. I do know how much you like your drama."

Magic swirled from Mia's fingertips, stacks of money appeared beside Gabriel, and then in a snap Mia vanished into a void.
