When You Feel Like You Are Drowning...

Kick harder.

I have been way busy the past few weeks. At one point I started to feel overwhelmed and started to think about what I wanted to cut out.

Then I thought - instead of giving into the feeling that I am drowning - I could keep fighting to get organized. Why? Because the longer you kick - the stronger your legs get.

In other words, I can learn to manage everything I have on my plate.

My goals were a flop this week. Except I did read four books and a manuscript for a fellow writer. And finish my cover letter. I am going to re-evaluate my goals and rededicate my self to meeting the for the coming month.

This weekend I am going to focus on getting blogger and twitter organized so I can keep up.  Then I am going to try and get caught up on the critique notes I have gotten for Shadowed Stones.

Oh, one more thing. I finished reading Insight (Beholders). Check out my review on goodreads.

Do you feel like you are drowning? Spill some of your worries on me - and hang in there!

  1. I agree! I have felt like I am drowning but I've decided that if my heart isn't in it it's not worth my time. That has really brought some peace to my world. I hope you figure everything out!

  2. It's funny, I can deal with huge problems--major life upheavals and be totally calm and logical. But when a series of small things go wrong I just get so discombobulated. And then I have to remind myself that there are much worse problems to have. You're right, just have to kick harder.

  3. Not so much this year! I did last year though...:( And I had just began a blog on top of ALL my school work!
I think, however, my Senior year has been the easiest so far (that's until next semester when I take 19hrs to graduate haha). I agree with you though...I just don't know how to stay organized! I'm not a master of time management without a tight schedule and I don't have one of those either. :/ Jobs can do a lot to get your into shape.

  4. That's great advice! Just keep swimming, just keep swimming (sorry, my little sister loves Finding Nemo). Sometimes our goals are a flop and maybe it doesn't seem like we are improving, but God might have had something else that he wants us to do and His priorities are more important. Maybe I'm supposed to be focusing on my friends and family right now. But I do need a little kick to keep writing! :)

  5. Thanks for your comment on my Say This Write blog. It was great to hear from you. I love your quote, "The longer you kick, the stronger your legs get." That's so true. I might use that on a Thought Box, if you don't mind. Of course, I would attribute your name to it. Have a good rest of your day!
